Conservapedia is a website designed to counter the Anti-Christian bias in wikipedia for homeschooled children who do not have an accredited science teacher. It was invested by Andrew Schlafly who is a Christian activist. Conservapedia claims to be a resource of truth, as they do not "allow liberal bias to deceive and distort information." Conservapedia takes a conservative approach to education to be a resource for students and teachers learning about the topics in hopes to combat the "liberal bias on wikipedia." I think Conservapedia is successful in reaching their audience, as they claim to have 500 million views.

They do a good job in trying to be persuasive by citing pieces of quotes from reputable scientist or influential people. They use examples of events to further prove their points by taking them out of context and twisting things for
Why is Conservapedia an issue?
Conservapedia is an issue because it gives a young earth view on articles one would find on Wikipedia. There are incorrect conclusions relating to science on this website with incorrect information, therefore making it a bad Science website. This website is worth debunking because there are some extremely bold claims that have no science to back it up and in fact directly contradict topics with plenty of science to back them up. I think this website's political agenda is neglecting basic science to prove their points and opinions. Unfortunately, there arguments may be convincing to those who are naive to the political agenda behind the website or those who may not have much experience and understanding of the claims the website makes. Over the next couple of pages I will address some of their pages with bad science and provide counter points.
